Student Reponsible use of Technology

It is important foe students and parents to be aware of the behavioral expectations, rights, and responsibilities they assume when using computers at the school. The links below contain the Student Responsible Use Agreement that each student and parent must sign in order to use district equipment and access the internet. There can be disciplinary and legal consequences for inappropriate behavior on line. Be sure you have reviewed the policies.

Library Rules and Policies

Circulation Policy

  • You MUST have your WMMS ID to check out a book.
  • There is a 5 book check out limit.
  • Library books have a 14 day check out period.
  • Books may be renewed one time (unless there is a hold on the book by another student).
  • Special due dates of 3 or 4 checkout days are used for classes doing research projects.

Computer Policy

  • See Mrs. Casey before using computers.
  • Internet Waiver must be on file with the office.
  • Student must have WMMS ID card to use the computers.
  • Computers are for school assignments only. No games or free time.
  • Going to unauthorized sites will result in the loss of computer use in all classes for the rest of the year.

Library Code of Conduct

  • All school rules apply in the library.
  • There are NO food and drinks allowed.
  • Please respect the library space and everyone in it.
  • NO running or horseplay is allowed.
  • Students who violate this code of conduct will be restricted from using the library.

Fines and Fees

  • Overdue books receive a 10 cent per school day fine.
  • Lost books are charged replacement cost.
  • Damage book fees start at $2. Severely damaged books are charged replacement cost.
  • All fines and fees are to be paid in cash (no checks).
  • Any books over 2 months late will be considered lost.
  • Payment of fines can be worked off if there is a financial hardship. Student should talk to librarian.

Overdue Notices

  • Library book due dates are stamped on the inside front cover of the book.
  • As a courtesy the library sends out weekly overdue notices.
  • Notices are given out Monday during first period.
  • Students are responsible for clearing fines and returning books.
  • Detention is assigned upon receipt of third notice.
